Stirling East Councillor, Bryan Flannagan, has today announced his resignation as a councillor due to increasing professional commitments.
Speaking about his decision, Bryan said:
“It has been a tremendous honour to represent the people of Stirling East since 2017. This has not been an easy decision, but after careful consideration, I believe it is the right time to step aside. I would like to thank all the people who put their trust in me over the last few years and my colleagues on Stirling Council for their support in helping me serve my community.”
Speaking about the resignation, Conservative group leader, Neil Benny said:
“We are very sad to lose Bryan who has been an exceptional public servant and has achieved a great deal for his constituents over the years. He will be sorely missed, as he brought his passionate, principled point of view to Stirling Council and always defended his constituents’ interest.”
Cllr Bryan Flannagan was elected in 2017 to the ward of Stirling East. He served as Conservative education spokesman, veterans champion and Convenor of the Public Safety committee. Bryan was a veteran and served as a submariner with the Royal Navy as a navigation officer and set up his own teaching business following some time as a college lecturer.
