Stirling Conservatives are today forwarding a motion to review Stirling Council's monthly bin collections.
In the recent local elections, we campaigned to reverse the bin collections, and promised to bring back 2-weekly grey and blue bin pickup if we were able to form an administration. Unfortuntately we were unable to this time, meaning all policies need to find common ground amongst the mix of Labour, Green, Independent, and SNP Cllrs to be passed.
The motion will start a full review of the waste services, including the frequency of collection, the garden waste charge, the costs of the service, and ensuring a high level of recycling.
With the Stirling Observer reporting an outbreak of rat infestation in Plean this week, the importance of regular bin pickup is more acute than ever.
We are urging Cllrs to get behind our plans for this review, the first step to getting 2-weekly collections back.
