Stirling Labour today bailed out the failing SNP Council in Stirling, backing them in a motion called by Stirling Conservative Cllr group leader Neil Benny.
The question voted on was one seeking confidence in the council, after being amended by the SNP themselves from a vote of no-confidence. The results were as follows:
For: (In support of the Council) 11, 7 SNP, 4 Labour
Against: (Opposing the Council), 10, 9 Conservative, 1 Independent
Abstain: 2, 1 Alba, 1 Green.
Only 11/23 councillors voted for this administration.
This means the Council is able to continue for another year, until the Council elections in 2022. Only then will the people of Stirling have the chance to evict this council, which has done nothing for Stirling aside from ill-thought out plans to run roads through peaceful areas and reduce the frequency of bin collections.
There's not much we ask a Council to do- but this council have done none of it. The Stirling Conservatives are campaigning to take control of the Council in 2022!
